What is a ConsumerDirect HSA?

A ConsumerDirect HSA has three components

EmblemHealth ConsumerDirect is designed to help companies and individuals control the cost of health care. A ConsumerDirect HSA includes a High Deductible Health Plan, individual Health Savings Accounts, and a comprehensive health and wellness program.

Qualified High Deductible Health Plan

HDHPs typically exchange a higher deductible for lower premiums than many traditional health plans. The insurance benefits generally apply after the deductible is met. You can choose the type of HDHP plan to combine with a ConsumerDirect HSA. We offer both PPO and EPO High Deductible Health Plans.

Tax-advantaged Health Savings Account

Health Savings Accounts can be funded with pre-tax payroll or tax-deductible contributions, up to annual limits set by the IRS. Employers can also contribute to employees' HSAs. Account balances grow tax-free and may earn interest. Withdrawals are tax-free as long as the money is used for qualified medical expenses. State taxes may vary. Unused balances automatically roll over each year.
