The EmblemHealth ConsumerDirect solution includes a high-quality health plan, a separate HSA or HRA funding vehicle, and a comprehensive wellness program. It is designed to help companies and individuals control the cost of healthcare.

A High Deductible Health Plan

A ConsumerDirect High Deductible Health Plan (HDHP) may offer a lower premium in exchange for a higher deductible. EmblemHealth offers both PPO (Preferred Provider Organization) and EPO (Exclusive Provider Organization) HDHP plans. You may choose the type of plan and deductible that fits your company's needs.

An HSA or HRA savings vehicle

HSAs are tax-advantaged accounts that can be funded by the employer and employee. HSA funds can be used to pay for any IRS-qualified medical expenses before the deductible is reached. There are no "use it or lose it" provisions with an HSA. HRAs also have tax advantages, but are funded only by the employer. HRA funds can be used for any IRS-qualified medical expenses that are defined as eligible expenses in the Summary Plan Document.
